José L. Piedra is a peculiar Habanos brand. Unlike most Habanos, it is made with leaves from the Remedios production region.The Piedra family, from Asturias, was established at the end of the 19th century in the vicinity of Santa Clara, in the central part of the Remedios region, which has historically been a tobacco zone since the 16th century.José Lamadrid Piedra, of the second generation, founded and developed the brand we know today. The 7 vitolas by José L. Piedra are elaborated with Remedios tobaccos using the Totally Handmade Short Gut technique with a ligature that provides a medium to strong flavor.
